Security
About Our Information Request Form and E-mail Any information provided to us through our website (i.e., e-mail or information request forms) will be used solely for answering customer questions, or conducting Bank business. Demographic information - including name, age, e-mail or mailing addresses - will not be distributed, or sold, to any outside source.
Accessing Your Account Through Retail Internet Banking and Business Xpress Information handled by Internet banking remains private, secure and is used only for the normal processing of your account(s). Internet banking uses state-of-the-art encryption technology to ensure the security of your account information.
Encryption is the method of encoding data so that only those who know the code can translate the data into understandable information.
Internet banking uses 128-bit encryption (the highest level that Internet browsers handle) to safeguard your account information. The encryption process works like this: while you are sending information from your computer to the Internet banking system, your browser translates the information into a mathematical code. It is the mathematical code that is actually transmitted to our system. Once the system receives this code, it retranslates it into information that can be used by the Bank.
To ensure the security and privacy of your Internet banking transactions, we urge our customers to take precautions with their User ID and Password. For example, do not allow others to see you enter your password when accessing online banking. Once you have access, do not leave your computer unattended while you are still logged on to the service.
Bill Payment To use the Bill Pay feature of Retail Internet Banking, it may become necessary for Barre Savings Bank to use customer information to verify or complete payments or transfers, or to resolve a problem relating to a payment or transfer.
About Cookies By definition, a "cookie" is a file that a web server places on a computer's hard drive. Internet banking uses a "cookie" to ensure that our customers will be able to use the services. This "cookie" only exists for the length of time you are actually logged onto the Internet banking site and will cease to exist on your hard drive once you leave the site.
Sending an E-mail When sending information via e-mail, please make such transmissions through our Internet banking site only. This will ensure that your transmission will maintain the highest level of security and privacy.
If you have any questions concerning our customer information policy, please contact Customer Service at 978-355-4693 or Toll Free at 877-355-4693.
